Facilities that produce, or consume, large amounts of data can benefit greatly from a Science DMZ design. The driving factor of this design is having a large number of data ingest/egress devices (e.g. DTNs) that are connected to high-speed networking and storage. Multiple network paths from can also be used to facilitate the bursty nature of data use. This video describes ways to design this system, and how it works in practice.
